Job Summary: Under the general supervision of the Production Supervisor, the Vocational Specialist supervises and provides vocational training and rehabilitative services to adults with intellectual/developmental disabilities and chronic mental illness at Lakeland Industries and in the community. Develops program schedules, instructs and trains participants, Vocational Assistant and Program Aides. Prepares documentation as to a participant’s behaviors, goals and objectives. This is a hands-on position, which includes providing personal care and implementing behavior plans.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
-Develops, implements, and documents individualized program plans, including behavior support plans/approaches for adults with intellectual/developmental disabilities and/or chronic mental illness participating in services at Lakeland Industries.
-May supervise daily activity/production of adults with intellectual/developmental disabilities and adults with chronic mental illness at Lakeland Industries or in community training sites or work sites.
-May develop rehabilitation activities for adults with intellectual/developmental disabilities and/or adults with chronic mental illness at Lakeland Industries or within appropriate community worksites or training sites.
-Record participant production accounts/activities and enters into computerized system in compliance with wage and hour regulations.
-Assists participants at Lakeland with personal cares as needed including toileting and feeding.
-Coordinates/oversees activities of assigned contracted staff in daily programming. Teaches appropriate life skills or job readiness skills, based on individualized participant plan.
-Purchases materials and supplies for programming and production following agency/county policy.
-Ensures work produced meets quality standards including arranging for timely pickup and delivery of product.
-Perform other related duties and participates in special projects.
-Responsible for over-all programming of assigned area to meet individualized plans, outcomes for each participant that attends Lakeland Industries. Monitors and documents progress and complies into six month reports for participant, participant’s family, guardian and MCO/IRIS Care team.
-Assures compliance to staff ratio are being followed per MCO/IRIS contracts.
-Monitors safety and well-being for each participant. Completes any incident reports when necessary and notifies necessary persons on the participant’s care team.

Work Requirements:
-Associate Degree in Arts & Science or other related Human Services Degree preferred.
-Six (6) months to one (1) year related experience working with adults with intellectual/developmental disabilities and chronic mental illness.
-Valid WI driver’s license or evidence of equivalent mobility. Nonviolent crisis intervention training, and various production certifications, as warranted after hire. Successful training can be accomplished during the first six month of employment.
